That Time We Added a Bird Bath is another abstract painting inspired by watching nature out of his windows in his series of paintings Nature Chronicles -Seeing What is Outside from Inside. In February 2020, he bought a new bird feeder but did not hang it for several days. He finally unpacked it and realized it had the option of a bowl for use as a bird bath. He mounted the bird bath on his deck rail and that same day the birds - mostly the yellow finches - starting using it. The finches use the same technique every time; they land on the chain and move down the chain low enough to be able to sip the water. Its a highlight to his day to watch them enjoy the water.
